AstraZeneca, Ireland | June 2025 - Present
AstraZeneca is a science-led global biopharmaceutical company with operations in more than 100 countries, a workforce of over 89,000 employees worldwide and revenue of $45B+ as of 2024. I am a part of the AZ entity - AstraZeneca Ireland Marketing Company.
Upon joining AstraZeneca Ireland in June 2025 as an HR/Corporate Affairs Intern in a newly established blended role, my responsibilities spanned two strategic domains: Human Resources and Corporate Affairs. Reporting directly to managers in both functions provided a cross-disciplinary vantage point that is rare in traditional intern assignments. This structure placed me at the intersection of employee experience, process improvement, and corporate communication, enabling both operational and strategic impact.
As an HR Intern at AstraZeneca, I currently support the Corporate Affairs and Human Resources teams by providing both administrative and project-based assistance. I manage the Planner for the Corporate Affairs team and contribute to key initiatives such as Sustainability and the Great Place to Work programme, which focus on strengthening culture, engagement, and employee well-being. I also collaborate with the Lean Lab team on process simplification and business excellence projects, ensuring governance alignment and stakeholder coordination.
In addition, I work closely with the HR Manager on a range of HR projects, including the Onboarding Revamp, Pay Transparency, and Q4 Check-in communication, all aimed at enhancing employee experience and strengthening people processes. My role also involves organising employee engagement activities and internal corporate meetings, as well as preparing reports, presentations, and internal and external communication materials that align with our strategic priorities. I contribute to internal communications by designing templates and assets that ensure consistent messaging across teams. Through these responsibilities and my participation in cross-functional projects, I continue to build a strong understanding of HR operations and their alignment with AstraZeneca’s broader business objectives.
Fenesta Building Systems, India | Oct 2022 - Aug 2024
Fenesta Building System is India’s leading brand in windows and doors. It operates under the DCM Shriram Ltd., which had revenue of $1.47B in FY 2024 and serves the building materials industry with innovative solutions and a nationwide footprint.
At Fenesta, I led the transformation of the company’s onboarding experience.
I designed the HR process for onboarding new hires and welcomed 500+ employees annually with a 95% timely adherence to the process. This reduced the infancy attrition of the company by 22%.
I introduced a "Buddy Concept" that boosted employee satisfaction by 23% and developed a 3-day induction "NEEV - The Foundation" program that focused on enhancing transparency of the policies & processes within the company further aligning and strengthening business goals.
I trained HRs and managers for consistency and created tailored onboarding processes for internal job transfers to make them feel special and have a sense of accomplishment in their career growth.
I also automated SAP HR-RCM processes to enhance compliance and efficiency.
My strategic contributions earned me a promotion to become the Centre of Excellence - Onboarding Specialist.
Axis Bank, India | Feb 2022 - May 2022
Axis Bank is India’s third-largest private sector bank, offering comprehensive financial services across retail and corporate banking, with an operating revenue of approximately $723.36B in FY 2024.
I joined Axis Bank as a Talent Acquisition Intern at the Axis Bank Rajasthan Head Office. I loved working here as this was the beginning of my journey to be passionate about People Management.
Here, I began with data management of the candidates and gradually started supporting the Talent Acquisition team in hiring for key roles. I conducted interviews, screened resumes, ensured document compliance, and collaborated with stakeholders to streamline hiring processes.
As I began to screen people and take first-round interviews, I felt thrilled and powerful (I shouldn't say that, probably - but that's the truth!) The feeling where you get to judge people, and sometimes it used to be funny while realising that they don't know - I'm just an intern.
However, this experience deepened my understanding of end-to-end recruitment in a large-scale corporate setting and sharpened my skills in prioritisation and candidate experience.
Here, I learned one thing - it's not about the position you hold but the quality you deliver.
And that's how my HR journey began.
Decathlon, India | April 2021 - Oct 2021
Decathlon is one of the world’s largest sporting goods retailers, known for its wide range of high-quality, affordable sports equipment and apparel. Operating in over 70 countries, Decathlon generated global revenue of approximately $17.7B in FY 2024, combining innovation, accessibility, and a passion for sport.
Decathlon was my first step into the real management world. I joined Decathlon as a Sports Leader at a store in Jaipur while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree. This was a sales position. Here, I managed three brands under the Water Sports section. I drove a 16% revenue increase in the Water Sports division through cross-marketing and strategic sales. I optimised inventory and POS systems while building strong customer relationships through personalised service. I also trained team members in sales and service, improving both financial results and customer satisfaction, and strengthening the store’s reputation for excellence.
I consider working at Decathlon one of the best decisions I made independently, as working at Decathlon not only encouraged me to step into the management world but also helped me understand my modules better, as I was getting hands-on experience with what I was learning theoretically in my BBA.
